ProjectdescriptionThePhDresearchwillbeconductedinthePROACTproject,underthesupervisionofProf.NeleMentens.ThePROACTproject(“PhysicalAttackResistanceofCryptographicAlgorithmsandCircuits”)isfundedbytheDutchResearchCouncil(NWO),incollaborationwithRadboudUniversity,TUDelft,FontysUniversityofAppliedSciences,andRiscure.
PROACTisa5-yearprojectthatwillfund2post-doctoralresearchersand4PhDstudents.Theprojectwillconcentrateonthedesignautomationandphysicalsecuritysimulationoflightweightcryptographiccircuits.
YourroleinthePROACTprojectisthedigitalhardwaredesignoflightweightcryptographiccircuits.ThegoalistoapplydesignautomationtechniquesinordertodevelopefficientandphysicallysecurecryptographicASICs.TheotherresearchersinthePROACTprojectwillworkonthedesignofnovelcryptographicalgorithms,andthedevelopmentofaphysicalsecuritysimulator.
Duringtheproject,youareexpectedtowritetheresearcharticlesthattogetherwillformthebasisofathesistoattainaPhDdegree(dr.)atLeidenUniversity.YouwillparticipateintheeducationandsupervisionprogramoftheLeidenGraduateSchoolofScience.
